Hey guys....
So tonight (Friday) kicks off crunch time at the Harpoon Championships of New England BBQ. This is a truly great event, one that I have competed in multiple times. If anybody reading this is in the Windsor, VT area, you should definitely go check it out. I plan on going over multiple times this weekend, and I will surely keep you all posted.
In other news....
Were getting close to (hopefully!) a big announcement. Some of you may already know what I am talking about, but the process is speeding up and talks are getting heated. I cannot wait to, again, hopefully, give you guys some exciting news.
Alright keep checking this blog, I am going to try and use it more.
Love family. Love friends. Love food. Love meat.
Love,
Wilson

To kick things off....
Alright, a little bit about me, and this blog.
I am finishing up my junior year of high school, and I am a big sports fan. I am sports editor for my school's newspaper, The Forum, and cover five sports teams for the local newspaper. I also play rugby. My family, mostly my father, has always had a passion for BBQ and has competed in several competitions over the years. Some of his greatest achievements on the circuit were a 3rd place finish in pork chops and a 6th place finish in chicken wings, beating out the local BBQ restaurant near our house. We also won the omega award in our first competition (think about it....), but it at least came with the coolest trophy. We also love to tailgate. Traditionally our big event has been Harvard v. Yale (my father is a Harvard guy) but with the new tailgating restrictions, that has kind of fallen by the wayside. Rest assured, we still make time to BBQ! We did a pig roast just last weekend and had a lot of fun with it. My father is also working on a new project...making smokers out of wine barrels! It has yet to be determined if these will become the smokers of the future, but the initial trial went very smoothly. This operation is being run out of St. Helena, California. Anyways, I have made this blog for a reason; to update everyone on me!...In reality to update everyone on my BBQ life. It has been slow, yes, but there is a new project in the works...one that will truly be something special! I am going to have to withhold the details until the plan is finalized, but it will be a lot of fun for me to write about (and a lot of fun for you to read about!), if and when it does happen. Look for updates all summer, including updates on this secret idea that is coming into being.
Stay cool,
Wilson
